Privacy Policy

Kinship is a private community where adults look for a co-parenting partner. We collect what you put on your profile, the messages you send to your matches, and — only if you choose to verify your identity — the document you upload. Verification documents are stored privately and seen only by you and our small review team. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show your email address to other members.

Account information. Your email address and password when you sign up. If you sign in with Google instead, we receive your name and email address from Google. We never see or store your Google password.

Profile information. Everything you add to your profile: display name, age, location, pronouns, your about-you text, what you are looking for, your vision for family, values and beliefs, interests, whether you already have children, whether and when you want children, your timeline, your preferred co-parenting style, dealbreakers, and your profile photo.

Verification information. If you ask for a Trusted badge, you upload a photo or scan of a government ID, passport, driver's licence, or proof of address, together with the document type. These files go to private storage that is not publicly readable.

Activity information. The connections you send and receive, who you have matched with, the messages you exchange, the members you block, and any reports you file.

Technical information. Basic records from our hosting provider, such as error logs and timestamps, which we use to keep the service working.

• Your profile is visible to other signed-in members so they can find you in Discover.
• Your display name and photo appear to members you match with and message.
• Messages are visible only to you and the member you are messaging with.
• Verification documents are visible only to you and the review team who approve Trusted badges.
• Reports are visible to you and our review team. Your blocked list is visible only to you.
• Your email address and password are never shown to other members.
• A Trusted badge is shown publicly on your profile once your verification is approved.

To create and run your account, to show your profile to other members, to suggest members you might match with, to carry your messages between matches, to review verification documents and Trusted badge requests, to handle reports and blocks, to keep the community safe, to fix problems, and to meet our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it or trade it. We do not run third-party advertising inside Kinship, and we do not hand your email address or verification documents to other members.

Kinship runs on Base44, our hosting platform, which provides our servers, database, login system, and file storage. Base44 processes your information on our behalf so that the app works. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google handles that sign-in and shares your name and email address with us. These providers may only use your information to supply their service to us.

We keep your profile and messages for as long as your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your profile, your photo, your verification documents, and your messages. We may keep a limited record of reports, blocks, or enforcement decisions for a while afterwards, where we need it to keep the community safe or to meet a legal obligation.

You can edit or delete most of your profile at any time from your profile page. You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to close your account and delete your data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your local privacy law. To make a request, contact us using the details below.

Verification documents are held in private storage and reachable only through short-lived links, and access to records is restricted so members can only read their own conversations, their own verification submissions, and their own reports. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password, keep it to yourself, and avoid sharing sensitive information such as financial details in messages.

Kinship is for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has created an account, we will close it and delete the information.

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
